Indicative Content
Progressive Ensemble Development:
The knowledge, skills and competencies acquired from the student's instrumental and musicianship studies are applied to the practical ensemble context - resulting in increased levels of musicality and authenticity in performances. Active and precise interaction with aural, written and improvised repertory is expected.
Independent Learning:
Central emphasis is placed on self-directed preparation for workshops. Consistent and productive independent learning allow the directed workshops to develop musical accuracy across a varied ensemble programme of stylistically authentic and technically challenging material.
Leadership:
Increased independent-learning expectations create the environment for leadership qualities to flourish through setting example for peers.
Continuous Assessment:
Each individual student is monitored on a weekly basis. Considerations such as attendance/ punctuality, participation/ leadership, preparedness, development of ensemble performance ability and contribution to ensemble progress are all taken into account in the context of the progressive requirements of the module.
