Module Description: This module is an integral and essential part of the course programme in which the student is introduced to a structured work environment . The student develops an understanding of the organisation, practices and procedures current in the organisation and the area of activity in which it is involved.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO5 Document the entire placement process having due regard to issues such as confidentiality and the requirements of the organisation providing the placement.

Indicative Content
Application Preparation
Each student shall prepare a curriculum vitae and letters of application tailored to different placement situations. The student shall research current trends in applications.
Placement Applications
The student shall research relevant placement opportunities. The student shall prepare for the interview process by placement organisations by researching the organisations' structures and activities.
Workplace Learning
The student shall ascertain the expectations of the placement organisation and shall learn to match performance with these expectations. The student is encouraged to engage in a process of continuing performance review and improvement.
Placement Report
The student shall document the entire placement process having due regard to issues such as confidentiality requirements of the organisation providing the placement.
