Module Description: This module provides instruction and exploration of editorial software as used in the design industry. The students will gain an understanding of system and software capabilities, import and export of files between applications. Students are required to communicate a message through graphic solutions with the use of image and typography in design layouts for digital print reproduction.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Indicative Content
File Formats
Import of appropriate graphic file formats into editorial software and export of files and document content in relevant formats for print production.
Layout Specification of Adobe Editorial Software applications
Demonstrate ability to layout typography for print production. Preparation of layout including margins, bleeding, columns, measurements and dimensions, pagination, colour modes and proofreading.
Artwork
Demonstrate ability to export editorial files for print repoduction.
