Module Description: This module familiarises the learner with the recording studio environment and all of the equipment and software used therein, including professional DAWs, and various microphones and microphone techniques employed in the recording studio and field recording environments.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO5 Use the equipment found within a recording studio for the production of a reasonable level recording project

Using the recording studio and its equipment in the production of reasonable level audio recording
Field Recording
Recording a number of live performances and mixing, editing and mastering them to a high level
DAWs
Gaining experience in the use of several professional DAWs
Microphone Technique
Exploring the various microphones and microphone set-ups within the studio and field recording environments
