Module Description: This module is designed to advance the learners concept of colour and issues that arise in its reproduction within the medium of print publications. The module will focus and develop their knowledge and skills of the Industry standard prepress process and applications.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Principals of Print Production
Colour management systems of projects including, colour specifying, spot, process, bleeds, crossovers, special effects and overprinting.Typographic formats for print publishing. Open prepress interface. Managing linked graphics. Output: desktop proofing options, sepration- based proofs. Creating a report for your service provider. Papering files for imaging. Checking film seprations, Checking contrat colour proofs. Checking Press proofs. Principles of print imposition, pagination, die cuts, different formats (bespoke v custom/template), special print finishes, binding, folding, embossing, quality parameters. Formats – PDF. Image correction, screen ruling & image resolution.
