On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Utilise correct notation conventions and ranges for instruments commonly found in popular music
LO2 Identify the extended techniques used by instruments commonly found in popular music
LO3 Transcribe and analyze a short passage of approved popular music featuring rhythm section and horn/string section
LO4 Arrange a short passage of approved music featuring rhythm section with horn and/or string section
LO5 Critically assess and integrate relevant stylistic concepts

An examination of the ranges and techniques commonly used in popular music and how to apply them in a practical context
Arranging
Making a personal setting of a popular music work for live performance and recording.
