Indicative Content |
Complex Technical and Musical Considerations:
Intensive study consolidates progressive technical considerations, mature musical expression and performance flair. Advanced exercises, rudiments, scales and arpeggios are utilised in the context of musical expression to consolidate the student's control of the chosen instrument.
|
Advanced Musicianship:
Challenging sight-reading is completed with confidence. Transcriptions are created, studied and performed expressively – incorporating detailed critical analysis that informs the holistic development of the performer.
|
Transposition:
Perfromed at sight – up and down a major third – appropriate to specific instrument.
|
Self-Awareness and Learning to Learn:
Realistic objectives are set by the student in consultation with the lecturer. Students implement and manage an effective practice regime to successfully attain these objectives. Further development of the student's ability to learn independently is facilitated through self-assessment and lecturer consultation. The student's active participation in this process is essential and is continuously monitored and encouraged by the instrumental lecturer.
