Module Description: This module introduces students to the history, principles and processes involved in in preparing text and image data for print production. This module aims to introduce industry standard prepress theory & application.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Theory and Practical
Overview of printing Industry. Colour properties. Terminology for printing. Bitmap image and Vector Graphics and output computer resolution. Screen ruling. Imposition and binding. Planning a print production workflow. The publishing process, defining project and quality requirements. Selecting a commercial printer and communicating with printers. Current printing processes and emerging printing technologies.
