Module Description: This is a project-based module focusing on encouraging students to develop image-making skills for communicating creative concepts within the context of a set brief in areas such as publishing, branding, packaging, music and entertainment. This module will allow students personal choice between modes of expression, using illustrative and photographic techniques to develop a personal image-making style and tone of voice.
Depending on image making interests and skills, students will be encouraged to explore the creative potential of location and studio photography and computer software as well as a range of manual or illustrative tools with particular reference to expressing ideas.

Students will also be encouraged to contextualise their working methods within a theoretical framework, and to refine skills of analysis, evaluation, conceptual thinking and visual expression.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Indicative Content
This module is focused on developing image-making skills as a method for communicating creative concepts. Students will be encouraged to use digital illustration and photographic techniques to develop a distinctive personal visual style to create digital imagery. Graphics software such as, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and photographic equipment will be used.
