This module is an introduction to the primary concepts of Milk and Sheep Production. It will give a grounding to students wishing to pursue a career in agri-business and farm management.

Selection of breeds to meet market demands. Breeding strategies .Carcase Composition, quality and payment structure. Lamb conformation and fat score. Wool Markets. Market requirements.

Mid-season lamb, Early lamb, Hill lamb and calf rearing to 12 weeks. Sustainability of Sheep production

Grassland Management
Grassland management in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Sustainability of grassland production.
