Module Description: This module is designed to assist students with preparation for placement. Particular emphasis will be on inter-and intra-personal communication and awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Preparation for placement
Guidelines for placement. Understanding the work environment. Setting personal and professional learning goals. Identifying personal strengths and weaknesses. Reviewing possible placement opportunitites and application for placement. Post placement appraisals.
Communications
C.V, cover letter, ePortfolios, application forms. Interview techniques. Simulated job interview and self appraisal. Career orientation inventories. Interpersonal communication and intrapersonal awareness. Competencies and transferable skills. Conflict resolution.
Placement paperwork
Placement Learning agreement form. Documenting reflective practice. Writing a reflective Journal.
