Module Description: This module is one of the Exercise Professional suite. This module prepares the learner for work as an Exercise to music instructor in Aerobics and Body Conditioning. The emphasis is on the learner's ability to perform and demonstrate exercises correctly and on developing their skills to instruct using music.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Instruct safe and appropriate exercise to music and body conditioning classes with effective communication skills throughout.
LO2 Describe the physiological, psychological and social benefits of participation in a range of exercise to music classes
LO3 Experiment with and select the appropriate beat to phrase with the correct music tempo.
LO4 Identify the basic principles of choreography in an exercise to music setting.

Written and verbal screening.
Exercise to music warm-up
Principles of warm-up and cool-down. Music selection and choreography. Instructional skills.
Cardiovascular phase
Session planning. Training zone. Wave effect. Methods of measuring intensity. Beat to phrase. Exercise selection. Choreography. Cueing. Adaptations and progressions.
Body conditioning
Phases of a body conditioning class. Benefits of body conditioning. Exercise selection. Music. Adaptations and progressions.Common errors. Observation and correction. Instructional skills.
