Module Description: The student is guided through the redrafting, correcting, completion and final presentation of an extended academic thesis.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Synthesise all primary and secondary material used and place it in a historiographical context
LO2 Refine the articulation of their previously developed argument, utilizing a deeper analysis of their examples and sources.
LO3 Convey a clear and critical point of view and develop their own opinions based on their research.
LO4 Present a final thesis, fully referenced and accompanied by a bibliography, in accordance with the CCAD Thesis Style Guidelines.

Indicative Content
Synthesis
The use of both written and visual sources as evidence, and a successful synthesis of all secondary material
Ideas, analysis, and argument
The student is guided in the development and refinement of the thesis argument. Skills of analysis and the ability to situate the thesis argument in a clear critical context are developed through discussion of the first draft as basis for the final sbmission.
Final written outcome, and conclusions
The writing of a final thesis draft which is clear, focused, coherent, well structured and between 12,000 and 15,000 words in length. Drawing conclusions which show a clear and critical point of view.
Presentation
Presenting a final thesis which complies fully with academic conventions & Crawford College of Art & Design Thesis Guidelines.
