Module Description: This module will enable the student to identify an area for individual research, providing the tools to develop their research through an understanding of appropriate visual language with objective/non objective analysis using a range of appropriate media.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Identify and select visual research material with an awareness of pertinent issues and their wider significance.
LO2 Creatively engage in the interplay and development of research criteria through continued analysis and interpretation of media, material and output.
LO3 Develop conceptual skills through identification and development of pertinent issues within the research material.
LO4 Apply the concepts involved in the implementation, organisation and selection of work for review both visually and verbally.

Develop systems of gathering and translating information into visual information for research and development
Identification and selection
Development of critical evaluation and selection of skills to identify relevant research areas and appropriate materials.
Skills
Develop appropriate skills for the creative execution and development of research material in 2D and 3D.
Conceptual Development
Identification and awareness of pertinent issues and their wider significance through critical evaluation and constructive self reflection of research material.
Workshop
Organisation of space and time in relation to practice.
Context
Critical enquiry into the historical and contemporary context of students work and an ability to discuss these issues.
