Module Description: This module will challenge the student to creatively explore, resolve and combine research and production goals. The learner will identify materials and processes which will assist in the exploration and development of pertinent issues and important concepts within their research project while continuing to identify and refine appropriate production skills.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Develop coherent concepts, assimilate new strategies and approaches to challenge, broaden and deepen the research material in both 2d and 3d.
LO2 Challenge and expand production methods and technical processes to develop their research goals through experimentation and acquisition of skills.

LO4 Present and produce at an appropriate level in relation to individual studio practice.

Research
Exploration of new strategies and approaches to creatively challenge previously held interpretations, analysing physical qualities, clarification, association etc., to expand the research goals.
Concept
Critical self reflection and evaluation of all relevant material in 2D and 3D through identification and awareness of pertinent issues and their development.
Translation
Devlopment of skills required to translate research concepts into form.
Technical Skills
Development of relevant production processes, through instruction and personal experimentation.
Health and Safety
Effective and efficient organisation of workshop space and studio practice, considering safe use of materials tools and equipment within individual and group workshop areas.
Context
Development of critical enquiry into the historical and contemporary context of individual students work and its wider significance and their ability to discuss relevant issues.
Presentation
Concepts involved in presentation of work for exhibition/assessment and verbal presentation of ideas.
