Module Description: This module develops the context, vocabulary, focus and enabling factors for individual art practice. It is the module that facilitates the synthesis of practical, theoretical and conceptual learning through the creation of individual studio practice which is intrinsic to this module. Emphasis is placed on conceptual coherence, quality of manufacture, display and presentation.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Indicative Content
Studio Practice
Developing concepts through a series of artworks. Scheduled activities, including formal tutorials, seminars and critiques present learning opportunities that are essential to the effective development of individual studio practice.
Communication and negotiation skills
Communicating, defending and promoting personal concepts and outcomes. Third party interactions – communicating needs, negotiation.
Presentation and communications skills
Presentation skills; Multi-format display - selection and organisation, display skills. The artist’s vocabulary.
