Module Description: This module looks at the hypercompetitive global arena of the 21st Century which mandates that managers develop the skills neccessary to design and implement global strategies in order to survive and succeed
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Analyse Business Strategy Theory to the formulation and implementation of Global Strategy and evaluate the concept of Globalisation its causes and why its proceeding at a rapid rate.
LO2 Critically examine the changing international trade patterns and foreign direct investment flows and how the rise of multinational corporations is changing the Global economy.
LO3 Critically examine the opportunities and challenges faced by the global corporation and their impact in a changing global economy.
LO4 Appraise the integrated nature of the Global Business strategy from a general management perspective to managing the global enterprise.
LO5 Evaluate the principal managerial tasks and responsibilities in effective global corporate strategy implementation.
LO6 Produce a conclusive, coherent, literate document, strongly supported by evidence and a convincing analysis of findings that contributes to the body of knowledge in the general area focused upon
LO7 Critically Analyse exchange rates, trade policies and their the impact on international trade.

Political, Social, Economic, Technological aspects of Competing in Global markets. The Organisational, Country bargaining paradigm.
Competing in the Global Economy
Global Strategy, Competitor and Channel Strategy in Global markets, Entry into foreign markets, mergers, joint ventures, strategic alliances, Effective secondary activities in the Global enterprise.
Contemporary Issues
Terrorism, EU Enlargement, Free Trade associations, Ethics.
International Business
Exchange rate regimes, Deprteciation and appreciation of currencies, trade policies mitigating against exchange rate risk.
