Module Description: |
The student will have the ability to prepare accounting statements including control accounts, depreciation schedules and statements of cash flow. This modules is an introduction to Information Technology (ICT). The practical elements of this module include the use of word processing, presentation and spreadsheet packages.

Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Control Accounts
Preparation and understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable control accounts

Depreciation calculations
Detailed calculation of depreciation charges including acquisition and disposal of fixed assets

Financial tools
Completion of comprehensive cash flow statements

Word Processing
Introduction to word processing in the windows environment. The creation and editing of files, formatting, preparation of documents, using wizards and templates, using headers and footers and page numberings.

Spreadsheets
Introduction to spreadsheets, use and application of spreadsheets, creating worksheets, editing and formatting worksheets, creating formulas and functions, creating and printing charts and graphs.

Presentation software
Introduction to presentation software, creating a slideshow, slide design, using objects, clip art, transition and animation.
