Module Description: This module will provide the learner with an understanding of moving a company's Human Resources (HR) practices into the international arena. It will provide the student with a comprehensive and critical knowledge in human resources management theory and its application in different countries and cultural contexts.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Critically evaluate different international perspectives and country cultural contexts on Human Resources Management (HRM).
LO3 Discuss the impact of organisational design on the internationalisation of the Human Resources function.
LO4 Appraise the challenges of corporate social responsibility and its relationship to international human resources management.
LO5 Critique the repatriation programmes available for international firms.

Strategic framework for HRM, International HRM, changing role of the HRM function.
Culture Change Management
Culture and HRM, exporting company cultures, managing culture.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Contribution of CSR to HRM, integration into the HR function, reporting corporate social responsibiltiy issues.
Recruitment, Managing and Developing People
Recruitment and selection, learning styles in an international context, performance management and rewards, expatriate performance, expatriate pay and repatriation of staff.
