Module Description: The ability to practice art depends not just on the quality of work an artist produces, but also
on the ability to negotiate a complex world. This module develops the learners awareness of
professional development and practice, providing students with the knowledge and skills to enter the cultural sectors with assurance, awareness and
integrity.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Indicative Content
Initiating and Managing an Exhibition or Event
Produce a Feasibility study or Proposal for the project. Venues, health and safety, permits and legal issues, outline practical technical and logistic problems and solutions re event management. Finance and sponsorship, Promotion, and Pricing. Where the project is collaborative be able to clearly identify and evidence their individual contribution and reflect and have successfully negotiated the new skills required for this role.
