Module Description: |
Tourism Industry Learning and Tourism Learning Industry P&E aims to combine academic learning with live case study experience. It provides an opportunity for the student to understand the day to day operations of a Tourism business and form a liasion with a tourism operation in conducting a project that is specific to an identified and approved tourism enterprise. Industry participants will act as mentors, along with lecturers and each project will be tailor made to benefit the employer and to meet the learning outcomes.

LO1 |
Examine the stages involved in growing a tourism business - the business lifecycle. |
LO2 |
Identify the key indicators of a healthy business and determine the importance of strategy formation in business growth. |
LO3 |
Analyse the importance of the business components of tourism organisations and explain how the functions of Operations, Marketing, HR and Finance integrate as part of a business. |
LO4 |
Identify best practices for tourism operators and examine micro and macro trends that impact on the business environment. |
LO5 |
Create a professional presentation and deliver this presentation to all stakeholders involved in the live case project. |
