Module Description: This module provides an understanding of the functions and application of computerised dealer management systems commonly used within in the motor industry.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Comprehend the applications and capabilities of computerised Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
LO2 Operate the Dealer Management System to complete administration tasks commonly performed within the motor dealership.
LO3 Use applications within a Dealer Management System to perform functions commonly used in Motor Dealership After-Sales departments.
LO4 Use applications within a Dealer Management System to perform functions commonly used in Motor Dealership Sales departments.

Dealer Management Systems
Features and applications of computerised dealer management systems; practical application of specific tasks performed within sales and after-sales departments; service and parts point of sale operations; customer records; franchise data; performance indicators, etc.
DMS - Service Department
Practical application of specific tasks commonly used within the service department - creating and recording reservations, jobcards, invoicing, crediting, estimates, performance analysis, etc.
DMS - Parts Department
Practical application of tasks commonly used within the parts department - parts recording, order completion, surcharge application, invoicing, full and partial credits, recording lost sales, performance analysis, etc.
DMS - Sales Department
Customer detail recording, compiling marketing data, vehicle records, recording sales transactions, performance analysis, etc.
