Module Details

Module Code: MARI6005
Title: Technical Drawing 2
Long Title: Technical Drawing 2
NFQ Level: Fundamental
Valid From: Semester 1 - 2015/16 ( September 2015 )
Duration: 1 Semester
Credits: 5
Field of Study: 5252 - Marine Engineering
Module Delivered in: 2 programme(s)
Module Description: This module builds on the knowledge gained from the module Technical Drawing 1. Students using manual drawing equipment will produce a portfolio of drawings based on the engineering drawing topics taught. This module introduces the student to Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:
# Learning Outcome Description
LO1 Apply appropriate technical drawing methodologies in order to successfully produce drawing solutions.
LO2 Apply appropriate international drawing standards.
LO3 Display accuracy, attention to detail and neatness in the drawings produced.
LO4 Produce a portfolio of Engineering drawings based upon the topics taught during this module.
LO5 Produce a portfolio of Computer Aided Design (CAD) engineering drawings

Module Recommendations

This is prior learning (or a practical skill) that is strongly recommended before enrolment in this module. You may enrol in this module if you have not acquired the recommended learning but you will have considerable difficulty in passing (i.e. achieving the learning outcomes of) the module. While the prior learning is expressed as named MTU module(s) it also allows for learning (in another module or modules) which is equivalent to the learning specified in the named module(s).
