Module Description: This module is designed to provide students with an opportunity to focus on an area of research and establish an individual printmaking practice with a complete body of work.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Plan and design a program of individual research within a technical printmaking framework.
LO3 Situate their critical concerns in studio through presentation and critique.

Indicative Content
Personal Print Project
The chosen area of study may be to investigate new ideas, to explore personal research and/or new techniques in the print medium or as an adjunct to an existing area of study. Students must choose an area of research and plan a development/production schedule in conjunction with the lecturer. Emphasis is placed on self-motivation and exploring personal research and development methodologies towards establishing an ongoing personal practice
Requirements
Outline of the proposed activity and a schedule of critiques must be presented by each student for approval. This will be supported by; relevant technical demonstrations /workshops and slide show presentations introducing the work of contemporary artists. The group will also be brought together for group seminars and critiques of the student’s work in progress.
