Module Description: Students are required to work as a multi-disciplinary design team to size the HVAC systems for a multi-storey civic office building. Full equipment specifications will be produced and equipment will be selected from maufacturers' data sheets. MTO's will be fully priced. Coordinated installation drawings will be produced.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Apply IT skills to produce an industry standard design report and co-ordinated installation drawings.
LO2 Utilise project management skills and team skills to achieve a multidisciplinary design on time.
LO3 Assess the finanacial cost of the design.
LO4 Apply core design methodologies and skills drawn from a range of modules in the selection and design of a system.

Detailed design calculations for system and component sizing.
Information exchange
Coordination of services, exchange of design information between discipline experts.
Installation drawings
Fully co-ordinated service drawings on a floor by floor basis. Fuuly co-ordinated plantroom drawings and cross sections. Full system schematics.
Project management
Project planing, tracking, progress reports, minutes of meetings.
Costings
Material take off (MTO), labour norms, labour and material costs.
