On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Analyse ‘Lean Operations’ philosophy from the Toyota Lean Toolbox and discover latest best practices suitable for implementation in their own workplaces.
LO2 Select a Quality programme involving Total Quality Management (TQM) principles suitable to implement their own organisations
LO3 Describe how to apply Lean methods to create a Lean and Agile Supply Chain
LO4 Describe Six Sigma and evaluate its operation in a leading multinational organisation

The Lean Toolbox. Principles of Lean management & Lean Supply. Lean. How to create a lean and agile supply chain. Reflect on how organisations can align their business to manage supply and demand using Lean principles.
Total Quality Management
Quality Control & Quality systems. Quality Assurance. The Deming Cycle. Yardsticks that measure success and setbacks - TQM and 6 Sigma etc.
Case Studies
Application of "Lean" operations at a selection of organisations e.g. EMC, Toyota, Dell, Apple, Wal-Mart, C&C, Tesco.
