On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Transport in the International Supply Chain. Globalisation and Transport. Understanding transport costs. Environmental responsibilities of international transport
Transport Regulation
Internal and external statuary controls. Driver hours and working time directives.The tacograph. Quality assurance systems. IT and transport. Irish, European Union (EU), and International regulations.
Transport Modes
Logistics and Physical Distribution. The modes of transport compared. The modes of ocean transport. Containerisation. The role of the ports in the international supply chain. Managing road haulage. Transport innovation.
