Module Description: This module constitutes a first introduction to E-Business, lending particular attention to E-Business platforms, their integration, data transmission and object-oriented data organisation.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Purpose, characteristics and features; Role of APIs; E-Commerce Integration Issues: Entitlements, Hosting of Data Files;
Standards and Protocols for Data Transmission
Selected Standards for Data Exchange, Security and Transmission.
Application Programming Interfaces
Integration with selected Accounting , Financial and E-Commerce Systems.
Data Organisation
Data Structures and Object-Oriented Concepts.
