On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Indicative Content
Business Planning Feasibilty Study
Key components of a feasibility plan incorporating cash flow forecasting, capital budgeting and accessing sources of credit.
Taxation
Introduction to computing taxation and the role of tax planning, PAYE, VAT, Capital Gains and Capital Acquisitions Tax.
Interpretation and analysis of business accounts
Vertical and horizontal analysis, Income Statement ratios, Balance Sheet ratios, interpretation of ratios, limitations of ratios and primary users of financial statement analysis.
Enterprise
Identifying alternative enterprises, planning and managing alternative enterprises. Characteristics of entrepreneur, advantages of own business, reasons for failure.
Succession & Inheritance
Management and financial considerations, land ownership and title and Succession Act.
Business Planning Software
Use of computer software spreadsheet package.
