Module Description: The objective of the course is for the pilot under training:
(1) to understand how to cope with the physiological and psychological aspects of dynamic upsets in aeroplanes; and
(2) to develop the necessary competence and resilience to be able to apply appropriate recovery techniques during upsets.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Aerodynamics
Angle of attack and stall awareness, airplane stability, effects of low and high altitude.
Physiological Effects
Positive, negative, increasing and decreasing G-Loads, lateral G awareness.
Psychological Effects
The Startle Effect, panic, high workload management, high and low arousal.
Procedures and techniques for recovery
Flight path management, energy management, recognition, timely and appropriate intervention, systems malfunction handling.
