Module Description: In this module students will be introduced to the application of the transactional analysis theory of Ego States in the wider society, in their own life experiences and in the counselling situation.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Analyse his/her own developmental experience using models of Ego State development.
LO3 Describe and review his/her experience of Ego State Contamination and Blending.
LO4 Describe and review his/her experience of bringing Ego States into awareness and integrating them.
LO5 Describe and analyse introductory elements of group process.

Application of the theory of Ego states, transference, unconscious process and the principles of group process.
1. Application of the first order structural model of Ego States. 2. Application of the functional model of Ego States. 3. Application of the 2nd order structural model of Ego States. 4. Application of the the Ego State Transactional Model. 5. Application of the concept of Ego State Contamination. 6. Application of other Ego State models. 7. Application of the psychoanalytic concepts of unconscious process and transference. 8. Application of concepts from group process theory to analyse own experience in the experiential group.
