Module Description: This module aims to provide a critical understanding of the nature of Human Resource Management (HRM) in relation to construction organisations and practices.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO3 Distinguish between recruitment and selection of construction personnel.

Nature of employee relations, industrial relations, industrial democracy, CIF, government agencies.
Recruitment & Selection
Stages in R&S, methods of R&S relevant to level in construction organisation and project.
Health & Safety
Policy formulation and implementation. Workplace wellbeing, keep-well mark.
Quality Management
Role of HRM in relation to TQM, QA, quality leadership, quality confidence.
