Module Description: This module will outline the appropriate skills necessary to measure and tender for building works and to understand the role of the construction manager in the overall process.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Outline the role of the construction manager and identify their need for measurement.
LO3 Measurement at the various stages of the construction
LO4 Describe and understand the tendering process and outline the procedure in relation acquiring construction work.
LO5 Describe the role of the construction manager in estimate/bid preparation within the overall tendering process of construction work.

Principles of Measurement
Outline the requirements of the relevant Method of Measurement. The application of the relevant Method of Measurement in the preparation of concise and accurate BOQ descriptions.
Tendering Procedures
Understanding tendering procedures. Tendering and bid preparation of construction work from the construction manager's perspective. Measurement for the construction manager.
