Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Programme a complete set of lighting cues for a digital desk
LO2 Design, plot and operate a coherent lighting design for a theatrical event
LO3 Draw up detailed plans and elevations to be rigged by a technical team
LO4 Demonstrate a good working knowledge of a range of techniques involving colour, focus, intensity, gobos and special effects
LO5 Integrate digital projection to lighting designs and operate and programme projection software
LO6 Lead and direct a team of lighting technicians and operatives

Draughting and CAD
Using theatre lighting modelling software
Programming
Programming cues into the Digital Desk, importing and exporting shows
Light Quality
Manipulating light, colour, intensity, focus, special effects, use of cracked oil and smoke effects, shadow and silhouette
Projection
Digital, Film, Slide and Gobo projection; reflective media
Practical Rigging
Rigging procedures and techniques; teamwork; risk assessment; physical and electrical health & safety
