Statistical Tests
Overview of statistical tests and their application to clinical sciences
Assessment and Evaluation of Analytical Performance
Precision, trueness and accuracy, analytical range, detection limit, and specificity.
Establisment and Use of Reference Ranges
Recognition of abnormality in test results, reference population selection, IFCC recommendations on acceptable methods to calculate reference ranges, limitations of reference ranges, and other values used for diagnosis and treatment.
Diagnostic Performance
Defining diagnostic performance, effect of prevalence on performance parameters, manipulating test decision points, receiver operating characteristic curves, livelihood ratios, effects of combining tests, clinical examples of timed based interpretation, and case studies to conduct data analysis to calculate the performance parameters.
Preanalytical variables and Biological Variation
Specimen collection, controllable-pre-analytical variables, uncontrollable pre-analytical variables, and the delta checks and reference change value in identifying pre-analytical variables.
