Module Description: This module aims to help the learner understand the principles, concepts and theories of ethical and moral
reasoning in the business context. The module also focuses on the implementation of strategies aimed at enhancing career and professional success with particular emphasis on the digital media sector. By acquainting the
learner with some of the major professional and ethical issues they will face in the workplace, it enables them to identify implications of corporate and managerial decisions and prepares them to more effectively manage their working lives.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Business Ethics: Contemporary Issues
What are business ethics? Business ethics and business performance. Sustainability, globalisation and social responsibility.
The Changing Nature of the Workplace
Rights and duties of employers and employees. The changing nature of the workplace. Impact of digital technologies. Self employment, mobile employment practices, open sourcing etc.
The Role of Business and Stakeholder Theory
Beyond the profit motive. Social responsibility and Stakeholder Theory. business and social development.
Career Development Strategies
CV and e-portfolio preparation. Career development planning, CV preparation and career presentation and promotion.
