Module Description: In this module students will develop an integrated understanding of the nature and origins of trauma and dissociation and their symptoms. They will be introduced to a comprehensive Psychotherapeutic framework for the assessment and treatment of trauma and dissociation.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Show an integrated understanding of the origins, developmental basis and nature of trauma
LO2 Show an integrated awareness of the impacts of trauma on the psyche, how it is held in memory and in the body and the adaptations that trauma survivors have developed for coping with life.
LO3 Identify and Diagnose simple and complex forms of Post Traumatic Stress and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
LO4 Show a capable understanding of the clinical presentation of common dissociative states and levels and be able to identify and respond appropriately to these in the clinical setting
LO5 Show a thorough knowledge of the elements and stages of an integrated trauma treatment model and use it effectively in the clinical setting.
