Module Description: This module develops the concepts and principles of Human Resource Management (HRM) into professional practices for contemporary business organisations. It examines developments in HRM arising out of the historical practices of Personnel Management and best practice approaches to managing people.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Assess the processes and practices of HRM functions in modern business organisations.
LO2 Explain performance management models in business organisations.
LO3 Recommend criteria for designing and implementing appropriate rewards packages
LO4 Discuss the importance of the employment relationship and the role of the employee voice in the psychological contract.
LO5 Develop an understanding of the need for comprehensive suite of policies, strategies and practices to ensure optimal standards of health, safety & welfare in the workplace.
