Module Description: This module builds on the fundamental knowledge gained in IS Project Management and allows students to work in teams to execute a successful cross-modular IS project. Students will gain knowledge on risk and quality management of projects and examine the benefits of the project management office.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

Students must have completed IS Project Management 1.Systems Analysis and Design, Business Information Systems, Business Management, IS Project Management 1. It is recommended that students also study EBusiness and Database Design for the cross-modular project dimension of the subject.

Indicative Content
Management of Project
Completion of team business case and fully workable system. Use of MS Project to plan, control and monitor the systems development, draft documentation, documentation iteration and version control, allocation of resources and tasks across the team. Project Management tools and techniques for managing IS projects.
Project Management Body of Knowledge
Ten knowledge areas, project integration management, project stakeholder management, project scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, human resource management, communications management, risk management, procurement management. Project assumptions.
Programme and Project Support Office. Agile Project Principles.
Evolution and functions of PPSO, responsibilities, benefits, expertise. Agile principles and techniques, benefits, the project roles and agile approaches, SCRUM,Kanban.
Design, Development and Testing
Design deliverables, design document, design duration, teams and team committments. Development deliverables, creating the project plan, preparing for development, code reviews, test checks. Testing documents, testing components, setting performance guidelines, testing tools.
Risk and Quality Management
Quality planning, performing quality assurance, performing quality control, customer satisfaction, prevention over inspection, continuous improvement,quality audits. Risk Management Planning, Risk Identification, Qualitative Risk Analysis, Quantitative Risk Analysis, Risk Response Planning, Risk Monitoring and Control.
