On successful completion of this programme, the graduate will:
1. Have core human resource management skills which would enable them to formulate, implement, monitor, evaluate and review procedures for managing people in organisations.
2. Be competent to be employed in a human resource department of an organisation.
3. Be capable of working in a supervisory capacity where management of people is a core requirement.
Recognise that the human resource function is an integral part of an organisation and its activities are designed to support its corporate and business strategies

On successful completion of this programme, the graduate will:
1. Be able to integrate the learning experience through the production of a work-based Project and a Management Report.
Be able to apply the theoretical concepts to their own workplace from the following subject areas: Training & Development, People Resourcing, Health & Safety, and Human Resource Management

|
On successful completion of this programme, the graduate will:
1. Be able to analyse HR problems and propose solutions.
2. Be able to play a supportive role in the training and development in their organisation.
3. Be able to have a meaningful input in the Health & Safety Statement for their organisation.
4. Be able to assist in the recruitment and selection process.
5. Be able to participate in Industrial Relations forums.
Be able to fulfil the following roles in their organisations: team leaders, recruitment and selection, line managers, training.

Skill - Selectivity
|
On successful completion of this programme, the graduate will:
1. Be able to apply theoretical concepts to solving real HR problems in the work environment.
2. Be able to utilise the practical skills gained as course participants to a diverse range of HR issues. Practical skills are developed as follows throughout the course: role-play in industrial relations tribunals (Employment Law and Employee Relations), interview techniques (People Resourcing), presentation of HR issues (Human Resource Management and Human Resource Strategy), manual handling skills (Health & Safety).
Be able to have an input into the identifying and solving problems in areas such as training, induction, and retention.

Competence - Context
|
On successful completion of this programme, the graduate will:
1. Be able to research HR problems and assist in the solution to those problems.
2. Be able to apply these HR skills in a variety of business contexts.
Be able to suggest creative and innovative solutions to HR issues. These skills are developed by requiring the participants to undertake research for a Management Report (Year 3), constructing exam questions which require creative thinking by the students, and by class participation whereby students are asked to relate the subject matter to experiences within their own organisation.
