Module Description: Strategy is central to defining the direction and creating competitive advantage in the marketplace for all organisations. This module will allow learners to explore and develop strategies in multiple organisation types which will assist in engaging and enhancing one's strategic leadership skills.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Conduct an indepth environmental analysis with consideration of resource issues which underpin strategy.

LO4 Critique the implementation phase at the appropriate strategic levels.
LO5 Assess how complex organisations grow, innovate and change.
LO6 Critically analyse the role of corporate strategy in an organisation's performance in an International context.

Assessment Description
The students working in groups will contextualise the nature of strategy within the business environment. Environmental analysis techniques will be used to inform students of the resource issues that underpin strategic actions and resource deployment.

Assessment Description
The students will critically analyse and evaluate an organisations (live case study) corporate strategy and present a detailed written report and presentation on their suggested choice of progress in the short, medium and long term.The method of assessment used involves problem-based learning individually and in groups. An organisation is selected in advance of the course and a problem/issue is identified.

This module is reassessed solely on the basis of re-submitted coursework. There is no repeat written examination.
