Organisational Management is a comprehensive and thorough application of the study of management in Social Care organisations and its application, and where students can learn about and develop the skills in management to meet the necessary challenges in today's Social Care environment.

Describe and Define Management, classify the Managers position, outline the characteristics,skills & abilities of a successful Care Manager. |
LO2 |
Explain the origins and key features of Management Theory and the development of Management ideas. |
LO3 |
Explain why and how Managers must understand an Organisations internal & external environment and filter environmental information so as to identify the key challenges facing social care managers today. |
LO4 |
Demonstrate advanced skills at long-term planning, dealing with uncertain environments, decision-making and integrating planning & control as vital to organisational success |
LO5 |
Identify the key role Leadership, Motivation plays in Organisations today and the importance of staff development and retention in social care settings. |
LO6 |
Design Organisational Structures to match the Environmental situation and the allocation of scarce Resources, Understand the importance of Control, Efficiency and Effectiveness and its integration with Planning. |

Understand the role of Culture, Change, Power, Ethics and Conflict in Social Care Organisations today, its impact on service delivery and the Strategies needed to develop that understanding. |
