Module Description: This module aims to provide students with knowledge of the Events Industry. It equips the learners with the knowledge to design, plan, implement and evaluate creative events.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO3 Explain the factors to consider in event design and production.

Defining events. The range of event types.Event stakeholders. Global events and celebrations. Role of the event manager.
Events and festivals industry in Ireland
Role of Tourism Ireland in events promotion. Failte Ireland strategy. Range of festivals and events in Ireland. AOIFE.
Event design & production
Event goals & objectives.Fundamental elements of events. Events as designed experiences. Creative concepts & themes. Marketing the event. Health, safety & risk management.
Event impacts and sustainability
Social & cultural, environmental and economic impacts of events. Sustainability and environmental best practice for festivals and events.
Deliver a planned team event.
Pre-event organisation, deliver event, post event evaluation and review.
