Module Description: This module will provide students with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to work at an operational level within an accommodation department. It will be delivered through a mixture of theoretical and applied practical settings.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Operate in accommodations division with appropriate levels of customer care, professionalism and personal presentation.
LO2 Organise and carry out the servicing of different categories of guest rooms and public areas to required standards.
LO3 Explain and carry out effective linen room operations.
LO4 Identify best practice within the accommodation department of a hotel with an emphasis on current trends within the accommodation sector.
LO5 Explain the law relating to accommodation services including hygiene, health and safety.

VIPs and dignitaries. Guests with specific needs. Dealing with compliments and complaints, the impact of technology Trends in consumer expectations.
Role of the Accommodation Department within the Organisation
Rooming lists, occupancy forecasts. Managing key and luggage control. Security control systems and operations. Technology supports.
Accommodation Operations
Rooms cleaning management. Public Areas, Turndown service, preparation for specific needs. Maintenance - identification and reporting. Preventative maintenance. Chemicals and Equipment. Lost property. Emergency procedures. Room Service
Linen Room Operations
Linen systems Contract/OPL,Linen room and laundry lay-out and equipment. Stain removal.
