Module Description: Performing and directing an instrumental/vocal ensemble from the piano/keyboard in a cohesive and insightful programme.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Design effective public performance programmes combining the skills of performing and directing, planning and executing successful and efficient rehearsal sessions.

LO4 Communicate and direct a cohesive musical interpretation.
LO5 Generate independent artistic insights in the chosen area of specialism, and convey these to the collaborating team of performers.
LO6 Engage with all of the appropriate technology necessary for the running of the performance.
LO7 Evaluate the roles and responsibilities of the Musical Director and how these collaborate with the other creative, technical and production disciplines.

Research and design
Research and design of individualised programme, prepare arrangements as needed, define and prepare parts.
Technical Expertise
Employ a variety of approaches for effective learning of diverse technical and musical challenges. Secure collaborators and communicate own vision for the performance. Planning of how to share own interpretation with collaborators.
Presentation and delivery
Performing and directing. Strategies for effective communication with an audience in a public performance setting.
Use of relevant technology
Define specific areas for self-development in relation to set-up needed. Incorporate this learning into the research and design process.
