Module Description: This module aims to provide an overview of international tourism
development policy. It assesses the policies and strategies of key
organisations involved in the development of international tourism.

On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

The roles of key organisations involved in International tourism policy development; Examples; UN Tourism, WTTC, EU, and ETC
European and International tourism policy and Sustainable Development Goals
Policies in relation to Poverty reduction, decent work and economic growth, sustainable cities and communities, partnerships, responsible production and consumption
Global Code of Ethics for Tourism
Examine stakeholders in tourism development: central and local governments, local communities, the tourism industry and its professionals, as well as international and domestic visitors
Future developments and trends in International tourism
The future direction for International tourism including changing demographics, geopolitics, climate change, new destinations and new types of tourism products
