Module Description: This module will take the format of an industrial internship programme incorporating placement in a hospitality related organisation. The student is expected to integrate all aspects of learning previously undertaken and implement within a practical working environment and where possible accept responsibility for the completion of tasks. This module is designed for hospitality managers and placement is completed within this sector. This placement may be domestic or international.

Placement Preparation
Integrating into the workplace, preparing to start a new employment, Managing the internship experience, induction process, giving and receiving feedback. Using the online portfolio to ensure reflective practice. Time management and meeting deadlines in submissions.
Supervised Placement Internship
Internship programme. An agreed programme will involve a agreed programme of development where awareness of responsibilities involving all stakeholder -industry, student and Institute are clearly identified, agreed and implemented. Students are expected to take up positions in Food & Beverage, Front Office & Concierge, Accommodation, Guest Relations, Duty Management depending on experience and skill development to date.

Assessment Description
Pre placement assessment to include CV, professionalism, interactions to the point of securing placement.
For this piece of assessment students will also have to submit Section 1 of the online portfolio should be submitted, this will contain synopsis of hotel, role and functions, a short reflective piece linked to the organisations/departmental structures as well as submission of rosters to date.

Assessment Description
Mid placement review with student and mentor. This takes the form of a meeting between lecturer and HR/ Line manager to discuss the students development followed by and interview between the student and lecturer to assess their progress to date. Feedback and discussion of work submitted and submission of portfolio.

Reflective Journal developed as an online portfolio Student is required to submit
Section 2 - Continuing Professional Development Log - the student presents evidence of learning and knowledge gained over the duration of their time in industry. This section includes presentation of evidence of learning and a reflective piece related to professional learning experiences.
Section 3 requires the student to provide self reflection in relation to their experiences during Internship .
Section 4 requires the student to provide an audio/video piece in relation to positive and challenging aspects of placement as well as career development.Section 5 is submission of rosters on a template provid
