Module Description: This primary focus of this module is for students to develop their own Fine Art studio practice, culminating in the exhibition of a coherent body of resolved work to professional standards.
The module is available only to students who register for the Extended Thesis ARTS8007.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO1 Develop an advanced body of studio work for a final presentation.
LO2 Articulate key critical and conceptual questions and concerns in their individual studio Fine Art practice.
LO3 Effectively communicate concepts, methodologies, processes and outcomes visually and verbally to peers and Lecturing staff.
LO4 Participate and engage with the interdisciplinary critical discourse in contemporary Fine Art practice.
LO5 Employ exploratory thinking,investigation, project planning and production for a final presentation of resolved work.

Conceptual Development
Further development of critical evaluation and communication skills through 1:1 tutor student contact and peer seminars.
Skill Development
Identification and investigation of processes that support the expression of individual practices through specific bespoke skill sharing tutorials and workshops
Critical and contextual development
Critical analysis of studio practice through a process of tutor facilitated peer to peer critique and seminars.
Studio Practice / Health and Safety
Research and planning involving technical specifications, resourcing, and logistics through tutor lead formulation towards the final presentation.
Selection and Presentation of Work
Investigation of a range of materials and methods of displaying work leading to final exhibition through a series of medium specific seminars and 1:1 tutorials with the lecturing team.
Documentation of Work
Identification,selection and documentation, through appropriate means.
