Module Description: This module will provide the learner with an understanding of human resource practices in an international arena. It will provide the student with a comprehensive and critical knowledge in human resource management theory and its application in different countries and cultural contexts.
 
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to:

LO2 Critically evaluate different international perspectives on human resource management.
LO3 Analyse international human resource management strategies for managing people in various locations.

Introduction to HRM principles and practices, recruitment and selection, training, performance management and expatriate reward strategies.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Contribution of CSR to HRM, integration into the HR function, reporting corporate social responsibility issues, ethical dilemmas and offshoring.
Culture Change Management
Culture and HRM, exporting company cultures and managing cultures.
Repatriation Programmes
Designing repatriation programmes, issues with repatriation and impact on employee retention.
Diversity and International HRM
Gender, diversity and inclusion policies and the legal framework in international HRM activities.
