Module Description: This module is designed to equip learners with a broad understanding of the issues associated with reward management, with a particular focus on total reward and reward strategies, and discussion of executive and international reward concerns. The module also explores the links between reward management and performance management.

Reward and Performance.
Underpinning Theories. The role of reward in supporting organisational goals. Promoting Individual performance. Promoting organisational performance. Implications of national culture for reward.
Approaches to Reward.
Traditional, Contingent, Developmental Reward. Flexible approaches to reward. Total Rewards; Organisational context, international context, components. Transactional and Relational Reward, Intrinsic and Extrinsic Rewards. Impact of the business environment on reward.
Executive and International Reward.
Executive pay and reward. Ethics in Reward. International reward. Expatriate pay and reward.

Students will be required to write a project report (of approx. 2,500 to 3,500 words) with a primary focus on the creation of an appropriate reward system.

Assessment Description
Cross-modular project between Reward and Incentive Management and Performance Management. The Reward and Incentive Management portion of this assessment primarily concerns the development of a reward strategy, which must compliment the Performance Management Strategy.
